The year 2014 has been especially productive in achieving international awards for the wines of Finca Loranque.

At the top the gold medal won by the Lacruz Finca Loranque Syrah 2008, achieved at the prestigious Mundus Vini International Competition and the Silver Medal won by Lacruz Finca Loranque Tempranillo 2012 in the same appointment.

The Great MUNDUS VINI International Wine Award was called into being in 2001 by the MUNDUS VINI wine academy, a subsidiary of the MEININGER VERLAG in Neustadt/Weinstrasse and has been held every year since. With around 6,000 wines from all the wineproducing regions around the world being submitted every year, MUNDUS VINI is among the largest international wine competitions and also the only German competition with international significance.

The samples are put to the test of an international jury made up of well-known and experienced specialists from around the world. The evaluation is made using a 100 point system based on a test of scent and taste as well as an individual award of points in accordance with the guidelines of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (O.I.V.) and the International Union of Oneologists (U.I.OE.). The awards are made on the basis of joint decisions by the jury. The number of awards is limited to a maximum of 30% of the participating samples in accordance with the regulations of the O.I.V.
